1986 Stamp Issues

1986 was dominated by the fall of the parliamentary Republic and the rise of the communist People's Republic. This reflects on the Musogradian stamp issues which were issued in a chaotic environment.

In January, Posta tal Musograd issued a standard postage stamp with the value of 20c. It was printed in relatively high numbers in two printing runs which differ only in the colour strength. Only unperforated exemplaries are known.

In spring 1986, a civil war broke out between Republican, Communist and Monarchist groups. The PKM ruled areas issued a new currency, the Musogradian Florin (MF) which immediately underwent a highly inflationary period. In May, the Narodni Respublika tal Musograd was declared, and in late summer, after the final victory of the PKM armies, the currency stabilized, and new stamps were issued by Posta tal Musograd. The 500 MF stamp was designated for standard letters, It was issued in a "wide" and a "narrow" variant. Exact issue dates are not documented.
