1988 Stamp Issues

The year 1988 was one of consolidation of the state. Postal service became massively subsidized, allowing a lowering of postage rates and an increase of postal services, reflected in a new series of definitives.

2nd Anniversary Definitives

FM198801 Definitives

In July 1988, a series of stamps was issued. Although the stamp design refers to the second anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic, it was designated as a definitive stamps series. The stamps are cut on the horizontal sides and wheel perforated on the vertical ones. Due to new, subsidized postage rates, the stamp values were in a lower range than earlier issues.
