Commemorative Issue "Balanga Art in the BCT"

FM200602

  • Traditional art of the Balanda (old spelling Balanga, pronounced "Balandja") not corrupted by modernism or other styles, can still be found in some places in Balangrad Capital Territory. The stone reliefs shown on the 4 stamps were parts of a historic bridge in the Green Forest west of the city. They show animal and human motives. Unluckily, the bridge was destroyed around 2010, and with it the stone reliefs. A replacement concrete bridge was built without any decoration. The stamps were printed in se-tenant strips of four. The sheet border contains a reference to yourstamps and a crossed-through soccer ball as a protest against the soccer world cup which was rejected by Musogradians due to the (now proven) corruptness of high functionaries.
  • Date of Issue: 2006.01.07
  • Valid until 2008.08.01
  • Line perforation, glossy paper
  • Value: M$ 1.00 / 2.00 / 5.00 / 10.00

Commemorative Issue "Dimitri Shostakovich"

FM200603 Dimitri Shostakovich 100th Anniversary

  • If there is a composer who can be called "National Composer of Musograd", it is certainly Dimitri Shostakovich (1906.09.25 - 1975.08.09). Even though he has never stepped on Musogradian soil, he has deeply influenced Musogradian culture and also political thinking with his moral position against antisemitism and submission to dictatorship. One wonders what he might think about the agressive imperialist and corrupt oligarchist politics of today's Russia. 2006 saw the 100th anniversary of his birthday, and to celebrate this, Posta tal Musograd issued a series of 5 portrait stamps.
  • Date of Issue: 2006.05.11
  • Valid until 2008.08.01

Commemorative Issue "Composers - Shostakovich, Schnittke, Medek"

FM200605 Composers - Shostakovich, Schnittke, Medek

  • This issue honours two other composers in addition to Dimitri Shostakovich. Alfred Schnittke (1934.11.24 - 1998.08.03) was a Russian composer with German-Jewish roots, and Tilo Medek (1940.01.22 - 2006.02.03) a German composer who moved from East Germany to West Germany in 1977. Schnittke and Medek were friends and exchanged letters over a long period until 1977. Shocked by hearing about Tilo Medek's demise in early 2006, the Postmaster of PtM, who had the honour to have met him personally in Mohuc, decided to print a stamp series honouring him and the other two composers. The issue was printed on yellow paper as a se-tenant set.

To support those, a "Refugee Aid" surcharge stamp was issued as last issue of 2006, with a blue / black design symbolizing the dark fate of the refugees. Today, 10 years later, the refugee issue within the Musanian Lands is all but solved (according to the official statistics of the Federation), but in the lands surronding the Federation, it has become much worse.
