2025 Stamp Issues

Commemorative Issue "15th Anniversary of JSAC"

15th Anniversary of JSAC - Black Dragon

The Strategic Forces of Musograd were founded on 2010.01.20, after the forming of the Federated Micronations. Originally aligned to the Dershowo Musograd, they now are part of the JSF under the name of "Joint Strategic Air Command". The JSAC is a guarantor of security and stability of the Federation, both externally and, in times of crisis, also internally. The stamp shows the ensign of the JSAC and the newest strategic system, a PA 505b "Black Dragon".

The issue was printed in miniature sheets of 6 stamps, all connected to a sheet border piece displaying the JSAC ensign.

State Definitive Issue for SRM "Astronomers - Galilei Galilei / Ulug Begh"

SRM Definitives - Astronomers - Galilei Galilei - Ulug Begh

Posta tal Musograd issues State Definitives for the FM States it services to cover the most important postage fees, which are sold only in the respective states and the BCT, but are valid in all states. On the State Definitives of the Scientific Republic of Murwillumbah (SRM), famous scientists are depicted, with a focus on Mediterranean and Muslim scientists. The Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei was born in 1564. He propagated the heliocentric model of Astronomy, discovered the 4 largest moons of Jupiter now named "Galilean Moons" and is regarded as the father of modern observational science. Ulug Begh was born in 1394. A grandson of the Mongol conqueror Timur, he was very interested in science and built the first astronomic observatory in Samarkand. He used it to create a highly accurate star table and to measure the length of the sidereal year to a precision of less than a minute.

The stamps are based on portraits available on Wikimedia. The state flag of the SRM is displayed both on the stamp and on the top and bottom sheet borders. Although PtM is not referred to on the information line due to space constraints, the stamps are official PtM issues. The stamps were issued in single motive sheets only, thus no se-tenant pieces are available. Both astronomers had their anniversaries in 2024. Due to special circumstances, PtM decided to postpone the issue but to leave the year 2024 in the information line unchanged.

Commemorative Issue "3rd Anniversary of Large Scale russian Attack on Ukraine"

3rd Anniversary of Large Scale russian Attack on Ukraine

Three years after the massive invasion on 2022.02.24 and more than 10 years after the russian occupation of Crimea and parts of Donezk and Luhansk, the russian agression against Ukraine is still continuing. It has slowed down to an almost microscopic progress, though, and one of the reasons for this is the use of small drones by the Ukrainian soldiers as weapons against russian tanks. While large drones as one way weapons have a history going back to WW II, the use of consumer drones by Ukraine has revolutionized warfare. Of course, the other side has adapted accordingly, as is usual in war. The 1980's prediction by Stanislaw Lem that weapons would become ever smaller, cheaper and more autonomous in the 21st century has come true. This trend will surely continue, with unpredictable consequences for the world. It is clear, though, that without drones, Ukraine would not have survived the lack of artillery ammunition and tanks.

The PtM stamp issue to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the invasion was designed to remind us of this fact. It shows two battle drones, hovering in a destroyed city. The stamp was designed using Midjourney, edited and manually colourized. It is issued in stripes of 4 stamps each, with top and border margins connected to each stamp.

The 1 CW surcharge will be donated to the "Wild Hornets" drone production organisation supporting the Ukrainian army. For international philatelic sales, the full sales amount will be donated. Alternatively, to receive a stamp stripe, customers may donate an amount of 16€ / US$ 16 directly to the project . For this, a screenshot confirmation of the transfer is required. Offer valid as long as stock available.

Experimental Issue "First experimental digital stamp"

First experimental digital stamp

Yourstamps , the printing company for PtM stamps, has started to experiment with the integration of digital codes into stamps. In a first step, digital codes from Deutsche Post were integrated into a a stamp design created using Artificial Intelligence. Used for International Mail to Germany, this experiment has so far been successful. The stamps have not been cancelled physically on the letters shipped with them. For philatelic sales, exemplaries with invalid digital code have been created. Valid exemplaries are being produced on demand. Yourstamps is planning to offer this service on their website, with further technical integration and automation planned.

Commemorative Issue "World Day for Glaciers"

Commemorative Issue "World Day for Glaciers"

The United Nations declared March 21 the first "World Day for Glaciers", celebrating the important role of glaciers as a stable water source for hundreds of millions humans on the planet, and also to focus attention on the threat to glaciers by the Climate Crisis. It is assumed that most glaciers will disappear by end of the century, threatening the livelihood of many millions. The F.M., although not an U.N. member, have joined this initiative, expressing their support through a Posta tal Musograd issue which shows the last remainders of a glacier in the Pyrenées, in the Cirque du Gavarnier, a classical glacier valley. The remainders of the glacier, technically only a snow field as they do not move anymore, survive in the shadow of the end of the valley, having formed a large cave shown on the image taken by a Musogradian expedition in 2001.

Commemorative Issue - "80th Anniversary of May 8, 1945 - Stolpersteine"

Commemorative Issue "80th Anniversary of May 8, 1945 - Stolpersteine"

On 2025.05.08, the 80th anniversary of the capitulation of the German Empire is celebrated. This ended WW II in Europe and Africa, with the war in Asia continuing some more months. It was also an end to the cruellest mass murder ever seen on the planet, the Holocaust of the Jews and the extermination of other groups like Roma, Sinti, Homosexuals, handicapped people and other "undesirables" by the German Fascists and their allies. Posta tal Musograd and yourstamps employees are reminded daily of this time, as there are 5 "Stolpersteine" , stumbling stones, placed directly in front of our Balangrad City office.

These memorial stones have been selected as motive for this commemorative issue. They are reminders of the fact that five members of the Luster and Eichen family , who were all deported and killed by the Fascists, have lived in the house which now hosts the PtM and yourstamps offices.

It is deeply disturbing that the spiritual inheritors of the murderers now raise their heads again, in Germany and elsewhere, including in lands where once the survivors of the Holocaust tried to build up a new society.

Commemorative Issue - "Lord Dershowo Anniversary"

Commemorative Issue - Lord Dershowo Anniversary

The issue was planned as a memorial to Lord F.M. Dershowo, Lord Commander of the MTBF rebels which successfully took power in 2000 and changed the direction of the Musogradian state. The stamp image shows the Lord Commander with a view of Speyside Bay where the last battle of the MTBF war took place.

Unluckily, the date displayed on the stamp is "2020.08.03", not "2000.08.03" as originally planned. The date on the stamp corresponds with the day on which the leadership of the reconstituted MTBF forces during the Shoolscath operation decided to prepare their revolt. PtM assumes that this error is sabotage by Musogradian nationalists with a political message threatening renewed rebellion. Thus, the stamp is being withdrawn from circulation, but will be sold as invalid issue to avoid philatelic speculation.

Commemorative Issue - "AMOC - Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation"

Commemorative Issue - AMOC - Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation

The Atlantic meridional overturning circulation was presented at COP30 by Stefan Rahmsdorf, Physics Professor at Potsdam, Germany.

The stamp design conveys the potential scenario of an AMOC failure via the colours of the four letters - from light blue (normal) to pink and red, reflecting rising temperatures, and then to dark blue, reflecting the expected fall of temperatures in Europe.

The stamp issue contains an error - the border text is "Atlantic Meridional Ocean Current", not "Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation". The stamp was printed on standard paper for much of the printing run, but six small sheets were printed on glossy paper for test purposes.

Commemorative Issue - "200th Anniversary of First Passenger Railway"

Commemorative Issue - 200th Anniversary of First Passenger Railway

On 1824.09.27, the very first passenger railway line in the world opened in the County Durham in northern England, between Stockton-on-Tees and Darlington. The full line had a length of about 40 km. Steam engines had been developed by George Stevenson and his son Robert Stevenson and used over a decade for transportation at coal mines. The gauge used at this railway line, 1,435 mm, became the worldwide standard for railway gauges.

The stamp celebrates this historic event and shows the railway engines with two freight carriages, although not the passenger carriage called "Experiment". It is based on a historic etching. For the stamp, glossy paper was used for the full printing run as sufficient supplies of the new paper have been acquired by yourstamps.

Commemorative Issue "October 3rd - Musogradian Independence Day"

Commemorative Issue October 3rd - Musogradian Independence Day

The 35th Independence Day of the Dershowo Unija tal Musograd, most populous member state of the Federated Micronations of Musania, is celebrated with a very special miniature sheet. The base image of the sheet shows "Piz Mus", a mountain in the vicinity of Musograd City, with its green meadows and dark forests. The mountain is famous as the only skiing area in the region, although now defunct due to climate change. The lower lift station and one mast can be recognized on the stamp.

The main theme, though, of the issue is the Musogradian National Anthem. Actually, the image was selected for this minisheet because it represents several elements of the anthem. Here the text in English:

Musograd, uniqe fatherland, our homeland between two wide seas.
Wide green fields and cities beautyful, mountains towering and forests huge and dark,
Musograd, unique fatherland, we will protect you with all our strength!

On the sheet, also the notes of the first and last line are displayed, and in the bottom, the text in Musosloviansk. The QR code on the right leads to an audio rendering of "Musograd Jedna Patrija" without texts. It is planned to issue similar minisheets in the future dedicated to the National Anthems of the other states of the Federated Micronation, including the Musanian Anthem which to date has not yet been officially declared.

Semi-Definitive Issue "Butterflies"

Semi-Definitive Issue - Butterflies

Almost twenty years ago, the first triangular stamp of Posta tal Musograd was issued, based on a butterfly motive. Now, the technology has been revived and improved, not only allowing right-angled triangular stamps but also isosceles or equilateral ones. Again, we decided to use butterfly motives, especially as the designer A.Wulf has recently created four excellent butterfly and moth drawings for Posta tal Musograd. The four motives are:

The new triangular stamp technology was developed in steps, first only allowing triangular stamps with empty se-tenant fields, but then extended to a full sheet without gaps. The stamps are sold as combination sheets (CW 0.50 / 0.75 and CW 1.30 / 2.00) in both formats, to illustrate the different options. They are referred to as "Semi-Definitive" as their values cover various standard postal fees and as they will be reprinted upon demand.

Commemorative Issue "50th Anniversary of the Death of Dmitri Shostakovich"

Commemorative Issue - 50th Anniversary of the Death of Dmitri Shostakovich

Fifty years ago, more exactly on 1975.08.09, the composer Dmitri Shostakovich died after long illness. The composer has had much cultural and musical influence on the Musogradian state.,Posta tal Musograd has honoured Shostakovich on his 100th birthday in 2006 . The current issue, though, has been delayed through internal deliberations, as russia, the land in which Shostakovich was born and lived all his life, is currently under a cultural boycott by the Federated Micronations due to its agression against Ukraine.

But regarding Shostakovich's critical positions and support for Ukrainian culture (e.g. his Symphony No. 13 using poems by the Ukrainian poet Y. Yevtuchenko), PtM decided to honour him as an artist who would, today, be in opposition to the putin regime. The stamp shows his signature, in writing but also in notes, the D-Es-C-H sequence referencing his name in several of his works.

Technologically, the stamp represents an experiment, using silver laminating technology. A first test run is fully covered with silver, a second run, printed in two phases, uses silver only on the notes and his signature. The sheet border contains his name (using the transliteration "Dimitri" for his first name) and birth and death years (for the silver version, the wrong year 1904 was used).

State Commemorative Issue "100th Anniversary of Quantum Mechanics" - SRM

State Commemorative Issue - 100th Anniversary of Quantum Mechanics - SRM

In 1925, the physicist Werner Heisenberg developed the basic concepts of Quantum Mechanics during a short stay on the island of Heligoland. His ideas then were put into the framework of "Matrix mechanics" by his colleagues Paul Jordan and Max Born. In parallel, Paul Schrödinger developed his "Schrödinger Equation" containing the "wave function". These frameworks were later proven to be equivalent. Still non-relativistic, they were the basis for the current standard model of quantum physics.

The Scientific Republic of Murwillumbah decided to honour these discoveries with a Commemorative issue in a special format. The stamp displays a view of the island of Heligoland, referring to the place where Heisenberg came upon the core idea. On an appendix to the stamp, the "Uncertainty principle" discovered by him is displayed in matrix formulation. In the sheet, the stamps are connected by a se tenant field showing Heisenberg's signature and a short description.

Joint Commemorative Issue "Christmas / Lightmas 2025"

Joint Commemorative Issue Christmas / Lightmas 2025

In the northern States of the Federated Micronations, the holiday of Christmas / Lightmas is celebrated around December 24. Posta tal Musograd and Capricornia Post decided to honour this with a Joint Issue, printed together in a common sheet. As a motive, mosaics showing waterfowl from the Chapel of Sant'Andrea in the Archiepiscopal Museum in Ravenna, Italy, were selected. The motives are sufficiently neutral to be acceptable to all religious groups celebrating in this period. They were made in the 5th century under the rule of Theodoric, linking them to the Arianic Christians in the Balanda Respublike and Capricornia, For the Mithraic / Sol Invictus creed, birds serve as a symbol of rebirth and life, and the Jewish creed considers them as kosher, making them a favourite dinner both for them and Carlist Christians.

Two different PtM stamps, one for Musograd and one for the Balanda Respublike, were combined in a block of four with two exemplaries of a Capricornia Post issue. While, officially, the stamps are only valid for their own postal service, PtM and CP have agreed to tolerate them when used for crossover postage.
